Tate is a lifelong Washingtonian. Born and raised in Kennewick, he moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. After graduating from UW, he worked at a law firm focused on workers’ compensation and employment law, which inspired his decision to attend law school. He attended Seattle University School of Law, where he was a Lead Article Editor on the Seattle Journal of Technology, Environmental, & Innovation Law. During law school, he clerked for a law firm focused on employment law. After graduating from law school, he briefly practiced workers’ compensation law for both Washington and Oregon. In his spare time, Tate enjoys exploring the state parks surrounding Seattle as well as attending the many concerts and sporting events around town.
