Eric Neal will be presenting an audio webinar for the National Business Institute on October 16th. “Insurance Bad Faith 2019: Hot-Button Issues and New Case Law,” will be streaming from 1:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
The subject of his presentations will be Individual Liability for Adjusters and Other Recent Developments and Bad Faith Set-Ups and More: Present Day Pitfalls and Best Practices.
This is a national webinar regarding hot-button issues in regard to bad faith claims. The discussion will broadly include recent developments in the law and how insurers, practitioners, and the Courts are handling those developments. More specific areas of discussion will include items such as individual adjuster liability, post-litigation continuing bad faith, and best practices for avoiding claims of bad faith.
This seminar is approved for 3.00 hours of Washington CLE credits.

On August 20, 2019 Lether & Associates celebrated our Firm’s anniversary. We started our day with an all office Foosball tournament and breakfast served by Sam Colito. We then headed to Interbay Golf where we had a fun day of playing golf. As expected, awards and prizes were plentiful. A great time was enjoyed by all.

Tom Lether will be presenting at West Coast Casualty’s 26th Annual Construction Defect Seminar at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California.
Tom will be presenting on:

The subject of this presentation will be:
Construction and Insurance Trends in the Northwest.
He will focus on the current status of the construction market in the Northwest, the introduction of new insurers to that market, the relative role of defense counsel and coverage counsel, exposures for contractors and for insurers in the Northwest (including bad faith exposures), and finally a discussion on the impact of new coverage rulings on both contractors and insurers in those jurisdictions.

Tom Lether is proud to once again be the co-chairperson for the Seminar Group’s Northwest Comprehensive Insurance Law seminar. This two-day event, which Tom has chaired for the last five years, will focus on Insurance and Bad Faith issues in the Northwest. The speakers include a number of experienced attorneys from both sides of the industry as well as judges from various courts. The two-day seminar on this comprehensive review will allow attendees to gain a better understanding of the wide variety of insurance issues and bad faith exposures. The seminar will be held at the World Trade Center in Portland, OR.

Tonight, October 18, 2018: Please join the Greater Seattle Insurance Professionals for a one-hour CE credit presentation of:
“Agent Duties in Insurance – The Current State of the Law in Washington”.
Presented by attorneys: Nicole Morrow and Kyle Silk-Eglit of Lether & Associates.
This course will focus on the new case law in Washington which states that insurance adjusters can be sued personally for bad faith and other matters in the context of handling insurance claims. The presentation will also discuss agent duties to customers under Washington law. This includes a discussion of Keodalah v. Allstate Ins. Co., 3 Wn. App. 2d 31 and Norris v. Farmers Ins. Co., 2018 Wash. App. LEXIS 955. An understanding of Washington law and how it developed to where it is now is valuable for agents, adjusters and those involved in the insurance industry.
