
RYAN BISEL

Ryan grew up in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawai’i. As a local Hawai’i boy, he spent most of his free time outside doing his favorite activities like spearfishing, hiking, and camping. He swam competitively from ages 9 to 19 and even swam at a collegiate level for the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. Aside from swimming, Ryan received a bachelor’s degree in Finance and graduated cum laude. He continued his education at Seattle University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor. While attending law school, he was a Research and Technical Editor for Seattle University’s Law Review and also worked as a Research Assistant for Professor Russell Powell. Ryan is a licensed attorney in Washington and Hawai’i.
In 2024, Ryan accepted his new role as Senior Associate. Ryan regularly represents clients on an assigned defense or coverage counsel basis in Washington state and federal courts as well as Hawai’i state courts. His practice includes construction defect litigation and insurance coverage litigation of first and third-party claims/disputes involving contractual and extra-contractual claims including violation of the Insurance Fair Conduct Act, violation of the Washington State Consumer Protection Act, insurance bad faith, and negligence. Notably, Ryan worked as assigned defense counsel for an insured involved in the largest construction defect claim in the history of the state of Hawai’i. Ryan also provided pro bono legal services to assist individuals and entities affected by the August 2023 wildfires in Lāhainā, Maui, Hawai’i.
